… is the founder of HipstoricalHome.
After obtaining her German Abitur (university entrance qualification), she completed a business administration degree at the VWA Koblenz and gained early entrepreneurial experience in her parents' business.
Her career then led her into international retail. Positions as Assistant Store Manager at GAP and several years as Visual Merchandising Manager at Eddie Bauer in Munich shaped her eye for spatial effects, staging, and brand identity. During this time, she was involved in the opening and design of approximately 100 stores.
From 2003, she worked as a Retail Manager at Helly Hansen. Even during her time raising her family, she remained involved with the company on a project basis and maintained a connection. From 2011 to 2023, she was employed as a Facility Manager at Skylotec, where she deepened her understanding of sustainable structures, continuity, and the long-term management of spaces.
With HipstoricalHome, Melanie Rinklake combines her business experience, international retail expertise, and a keen sense of atmosphere. Her focus is on curated, unique pieces with a story – for spaces that don't need to impress, but rather inspire.
